OBAKKI

After several formative years Nettwerk Records’ in-house art department, where I learned to thrive among a brilliant group of artists and misfits and had my first experience in apparel design with Chulo Pony, I joined Obakki as Art Director. Over the next six-plus years working closely with founder Treana Peake, I was gifted the freedom to explore, learn and bring a deeply creative approach to the work.

Each season began with a concept that flowed through every part of the brand. From original print and artwork development, photography concepts, lookbooks & catalogs, digital marketing and retail, I was able to take concepts from earliest ideas through to final expression. Alongside passionate designers, photographers and makers we brought each season to life with ambition and dedication to our craft.

Looking back, this was one of the most creatively fulfilling periods of my career. I learned the value of seeing a brand from every angle: how its individual parts connect, influence one another and ultimately express something bigger. The experience continues to shape how I work today and what I believe I bring to a creative partnership.
